After weeks of deliberating over which Heating & A/C plan every one of us wanted for our current home, every one of us finally settled for the heat pump system, with electric radiant heating for the supplemental.
The radiant heating every one of us had chosen was a newer model.
It was mounted at the top of the wall & they were set up to blow the heating onto the floor. The heat would then go up along the walls, radiating its heat throughout the rooms. I would not need to worry about cleaning & having them in the way of our sweeping & mopping, or vacuuming our rugs. Our current heat pump used the ambient heating of outside & pulled it inside, so it would be able to heat the water that would flow through water pipes & heat the house. All of us had the water pipes put beneath our flooring so every one of us had radiant heating without having radiators or air ducts. I always hated needing to place our furniture in particular places just so I didn’t block an air duct. I didn’t appreciate needing to keep our curtains short because I couldn’t have the heat blowing into the curtains instead of the room. With our radiant heating, the heat was already on the floor & I wouldn’t need to worry about frigid feet anymore. I especially loved that every one of us had the heat in the powder room. All of us did opt to not have radiant heating in the dining room or in our dining room. All of us felt that the dining room would hot up gently with the heat from the dining room, & every one of us liked our dining room on the cooler side.
