They could’ve fixed it much easier, making the price much cheaper
At the beginning of summer, my husband and I experienced problems with our air conditioning system. At first, I thought the equipment just needed some time to kick the dust off after being turned off for the winter season. However, when it never got better, I knew something was wrong. I had replaced the air filter before firing up the air conditioning again, but there was hardly any cool air coming from our vents. Our air conditioner was pushing out air at a rapid rate, but it was warm. I set the thermostat from 78 degrees to 70 degrees, but the temperature never dropped below 77 degrees. I contacted a nearby HVAC company and scheduled a technician to come over. When he arrived, he asked us some general questions about our AC system. The first thing he asked was “when was the last time you had your HVAC equipment serviced by a HVAC professional?” I proudly said that we never have our HVAC equipment serviced, because we just manage things ourselves. The technician laughed and told us that all HVAC systems need professional maintenance at least once a year. There are things homeowners can do to take care of their HVAC equipment, but there are things they will miss without proper training. If our air conditioner had been serviced by a professional at the beginning of the season, they would’ve been able to warn us about the leak in the coils. They could’ve fixed it much easier, making the price much cheaper. I’ve never been so embarrassed before over my HVAC equipment.
