I recently heard a incorrect Heating, Ventilation plus A/C idea

I have a few friends that are renovating their house, and they told myself and others the worst plan I have ever heard! The story involved their plans for the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit. These friends are updating and adding an easily new addition to their tile house. They want to swap our their gas furnace and central air conditioner for an easily new set of Heating, Ventilation plus A/C units, but their addition needs a way to be linked to the existing Heating, Ventilation plus A/C units. I asked him what he planned to do, and he told myself and others that he didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying to knock out a crawl space for his addition, then he was going to install stand-alone heating units for each of the rooms in the addition, which would run separately from the gas furnace in the rest of the house, and when I asked him why, he told myself and others that the crawl space was small, so he didn’t want to have to get under there if his gas furnace or ducts needed to be fixed. When I asked him what he was going to do with his air conditioner, he admitted that he had no plan for a/c. He wanted to purchase a few window air conditioners. This was a stupid idea! Why in the world would you pay for a sizable central air conditioner and gas furnace if you weren’t going to use them for the rest of the rooms? Those gas oil furnaces will look poor in only the new rooms, and the air conditioners are so much louder compared to the central air conditioner, however for only a little more work, he could have his entire apartment running on the same Heating, Ventilation plus A/C units!
