When I first moved into our beach house I wanted to uproot the boiler system; The boiler was situated in the basement plus taking up too much room; It was rusty, dirty plus severely outdated.
I was all over our wife that the first thing we had to do was get rid of it. Thankfully we moved in while in the Winter season, however both of us had no option however to rely on the seasoned boiler plan for heating; Wow, boiler plans can honestly heat a house, however most greater homes can’t get by with a gas furnace or central heater. They need to seal up the rooms better, close certain air vents or get a supplemental heater. The boiler was able to heat the entire house with no issue. Both of us did not have HVAC ducts with the plan either, then no need for HVAC duct cleaning or worrying about energy waste, then a boiler uses piping instead plus boiling water flows through the pipes. I later found that the pipes could definitely be installed under the floors rather than around the baseboards, but hydronic heating is the most efficient plan of radiant floors. I could set the oil furnace lower because the heat would not rise up to the ceiling plus get wasted. No air is being blown so that means no dirty air quality. Additionally it is a silent gas furnace; Sadly the boiler plan died before we could do the addition. Now our wife plus I own a fireplace plan plus hate it. I miss that big, ugly boiler in our basement terribly. I care about it now that it’s gone.
