Lunch preps

I work at a fast food site in town, and it can get pretty hectic at times. This past week was super busy because of the weather. I never even had time to take our regular breaks each day! The Other day I had brunch prep duty. It was our dutifully assigned work to split up all the veggies, and try to prepare the sandwich meat for the brunch rush. This was not our number one favorite job! It got even worse around 11 in the morning when our entire heating and cooling system decided to cut down. Now, it was a sweltering 95 degrees outside, and we were told we now had to work without any type of air conditioning to speak of. It was brutally tepid without any type of working air conditioner! What made it far worse was the heat from the grill during the rush. It must have been 110 degrees in that place without an air conditioner. I pleaded with our major employer to call up a local heating and cooling system repair shop right then, however he didn’t have the time because of the pending brunch rush… He told myself and others he would immediately call the heating and cooling system repair shop after the brunch rush died down that afternoon. I could not wait! I needed some air conditioner fast or I was going to pass right out on the floor. I suppose it would take awhile to get the air conditioner fixed, and that if it wasn’t fixed by tonight I was calling into work the next day. I cannot work in these conditions particularly without any type of air conditioner to cool myself and others off in the steamy kitchen! Luckily, our employer was able to get a local HVAC system repair shop right from the PC shortly after the brunch rush ended for us. The Heating and cooling system would be repaired by the following morning.
