Is there any US state that does not require the people to have both heating and cooling? I was born and raised in the North. Most of my life was spent dealing with the heating system. Fall came right away and the heater needed to be serviced fast. After that, Winter and Spring were both freezing cold. Even on Easter, we used our heating system without fail. Then once Summer arrived, the heater was able to be turned off for around two months. My family did not own an air conditioner, but we should have. All of us agreed having a cooling system for two months was a waste of money. However, the Northern Summers get really humid. An air conditioner would have helped with that. The AC system naturally dries out the indoor air quality in the home. Also the sun would shine through the windows are our home would get hot. A little bit of cooling would have been appreciated. Now I live in the South. Basically I have the reverse life. I need to use AC in Summer, Fall and Spring for sure. Winter is basically around two weeks, but they are a cold two weeks. It is cold enough that I can’t by without any type of heater. I have a smaller electric heater in the kitchen, and I keep a space heater in my bedroom. I need both heating and cooling no matter if I am at home, or visiting my parents. Is there any location that can get by with just heating or just AC?
