Thank goodness

I decided I wanted to host my family’s Christmas at my new place for the first time. I wanted all of my relatives to see my new home and to enjoy the holidays together. We had always gathered at my parents’ home in years past, so my brother needed convincing of the change. I promised him that as long as the family was altogether, Christmas would still be great! My family planned on staying with me until the new year, and my brother was coming a few days early to help out. When he arrived, I was in total panic because the oil furnace had stopped working. What a disaster! I was crying because it seemed that Christmas was ruined. Maybe we  should have all just gone to my parents’ home. I was sure that no Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician would be available, assuming that they were all either fully booked or on vacation. I was starting to drag out my portable gas heaters and all of my extra blankets when my brother got out the phone book to find listings for Heating, Ventilation and A/C companies. Of course the technicians were unavailable! But surprisingly, he found one Heating, Ventilation and A/C supplier who had an available technician! Thank goodness I have a level-headed brother! He calmly explained our furnace problems and the urgent need for a repair. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician was able to service the furnace by the time our family arrived. My home heated quickly once the radiators and oil furnace were working. In the end, Christmas at my place was a hit!
