I was so cheerful last year when I finally found the best location to set up my art shop downtown. I had been looking for a brick and mortar shop location, however due to my chronic anxiety, it actually took me quite a while to find a storefront that met all of my needs. But then after nearly a year of shopping around, I finally discovered a historic studio space, located on the top floor of a four story building in the shopping district downtown. I was so overjoyed with my new workspace throughout the fall as I renovated the entire inside of the facility. I even had all new Heating and Air Conditioning installed in my shop, and we put in an advanced ventilation system to help deal with the subpar air quality. I thought everything was perfect with my new space. It was big, lovely, and totally comfortable with my brand new furnace and air cleaner running. The only thing was that I had only worked in the space while it was cold. I had a rude awakening coming my way when the Summer time started and then my studio inexplicably began to heat up each afternoon to an uncomfortable degree! It was blaring hot inside during the afternoons, no matter how high I turned up the A/C unit! I was very puzzled, because the air quality was very hot and it lacked the humidity characteristic of the outdoor air. It took me many mornings of working in the heat up there and running box fans from every corner of the workspace to realize what was going on. The storefront below me was a yoga studio and their hot yoga classes combined with the pounding summer sun was too much for my A/C component to handle.
