Growing up I actually learned plenty about operating a business from my father. He was a stonemason plus made a decent living at it. He taught myself and others that when it comes to business you will have to take some massive hits when you are first trying to get in. You will have to weaken competitors plus do various jobs you might feel are beneath you if you want to get your foot in the door. Once you have some decent experience plus people know who you are, then you can raise your rates to industry standards plus be more selective in the jobs you will take on. That is a lesson I took seriously plus implemented when I started up my own business. I basically repair, install, plus maintenance Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C appliances plus have been operating my own business for around 6 years now. Before that I worked for a well established Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier for about 4 years, so I have 10 total years in the game. In that time I have become a master at taking care of furnaces, air conditioning appliances, ducts, vents, temperature controls, plus all sorts of other Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C appliances out there. When I started out I had to take any job I could get manage to establish a name for myself. I took on some pretty gross work assignments back then. There was a single guy who was a hoarder plus his furnace would not operate. There was literally a mountain of garbage between me, the basement steps plus the furnace. I took about 3 showers after that particular assignment. Nowadays, things are much different. I have an established Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C business plus am able to choose the hours plus assignments I want to do.
