Lately I’ve been worried with sending my kid off to university! He’s 18 and so eager to get out into the world. Still there are some things that he isn’t entirely prepared for yet, however it will be his first time living on his own, so, of course I have a lot of worries. I want to make sure he is safe, although I also wish him to be happy. I wanted him to live in a dorm, but he insisted on getting his own place, and to compromise, each of us ended up finding a student living section off campus. He will share the place with 2 other students his age, plus they will each have their own rooms plus bathrooms. The best deal of the apartment, to me, was the fact that it is zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit. This means that they will each be able to have the temperature in their own room whatever way suits them. This really wouldn’t be the norm in a dorm room because the air conditioning system would be operated by a single thermostat for the entire hallway. I don’t think my kid even understands the headaches this will save him. He was anxious with getting his own bathroom, although I think the Heating, Ventilation and A/C component setup is what’s definitely going to help him cope with living among 2 new people. I sure could have used that type of air conditioning system when I was at university! He moves out in a few weeks, so I definitely hope that he gets off on the right foot. If so, I guess he’ll do great!
