My landlord of over ten years is by far one of the most frugal people I’ve ever met. I understand that times can be hard and we all need to tighten our wallets and cut on costs wherever we can. However, my place is not the correct place to start! Ever since my old and rusty sub pump went and we had to hire dealers to rebuild half the house, it’s been a disaster each day. Every step of the way, he’s at my place working to cut another corner, some of which are dangerous to my health. He called the rehab crew and asked them to save the carpets, even though they were covered in old debris and bacteria. My landlord thought if they were just scrubbed down effectively, they didn’t have to be thrown out. The rehab crew was on my side and told him he was in the wrong! Now that the job is all done and I had hoped we were free to go back to how it was, but that’s not the case. Now we need to be checked by a pro before I can live in my own place again. There is also the matter of the oil gas furnace radiator parts in piles on the floor, not yet put together again. I decided to take the matter into my own hands and tell my landlord that he has to to hire a proper Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company to put them back together and inspect the system or I will sue. Nobody really knew if the flood water had effected the registers or any other aspect of the central heater, but fortunately the heating & A/C service provider was quick to figure things out. He had the oil furnace radiator put back together in no time and scanned the system from top to bottom. Aside from the cleaning that had to be done before the Winter came, my oil gas furnace was announced as properly functioning.
