Sometimes, it seems as if the world is out to get me! I try and plan my days to allow time for each activity or errand that I need to run and somehow, I get behind and don’t get to everything on my list. There are days where is really isn’t a problem, but, as a medical transcriptionist, I have many that are hectic. I work remotely from home for three different doctors. Each day they see patients, record their appointments and diagnosis, and then I need to go in and update the patient records. For the most part, my job is fairly low stress. However, last week, on a day that I had a very heavy patient load to record, my HVAC system cut out. The temperatures outside were in the mid thirties and I had no choice but to call in a repairman. I couldn’t very well let the temperature in the house drop too low and typing was downright painful with cold fingers. The technician arrived quickly and was able to repair my heat. I was very thankful that I had a reputable HVAC dealership so close by that could service my system so quickly. I barely made my deadline that evening but as the house warmed back up it made working much more comfortable. I never realized how important servicing my HVAC system was until I didn’t have it. a I vowed that day to make sure and have annual check-ups from then on. My job and my livelihood depend on my comfort and I can’t afford to jeopardize either one.
