I remember last year, my spouse and I went on a little vacation… Both of us live in the South and the two of us had our beach house for a few years. This was honestly the first time the two of us would be leaving our beach house for a long period of time, and I figured that we could just turn the Heating and Air Conditioning system off altogether/ What’s the point of air conditioner an empty beach house right? Well, I honestly wished I had looked into it or asked somebody about this situation. Both of us went on or vacation and it was a great time. We were gone for about 2 weeks and honestly, we needed that break. Well, when we returned to our home, we were shocked. Both of us discovered mold growth all around the house! I came to find that because of the intense humidity in the South, you can’t just turn off the air conditioner. If I would have kept the air conditioning system on just a lower level, it would have been fantastic because the air conditioning system naturally removes moisture from the air. No, I turned the air conditioning system off altogether. This was a huge mistake and now I had to pay for it. Both of us had to get a hotel while we hired a company to remove all the mold from inside of house. It was extravagant and it was a poor experience. Fortunately, that company did a fabulous task of getting rid of all the mold. I absolutely learned my lesson and I hope that people who reads this knows not to make the same mistake that I did! If you live in a humid area, you should either get a dehumidifier, or have your air conditioning system running on low while you are away. This will save you a extravagant bill from a company that removes the mold inside of your house.
