Lavender scent for the a/c filter

My roommate Wes is obsessed with the smell of lavender so everything in our lake loft has to have the scent of lavender: our dish soap, detergent, body wash as well as candles all are the scent of lavender, but he claims it is the best of the smells and also that the women love it. I sort of hate lavender now and would enjoy any other scent. I especially hate it after Wes purchased scented air filters for our heating system. He found that air conditioner filters can be made with scents, but as the heating method works and the air runs through it, it can go over lavender scented coils. My roommate was so gleeful to have our whole lake loft to reek of lavender. He ended up being super disappointed, however. Lavender scented air filters sounds like a fun idea, however it really is terrible. A HVAC filter is made to catch the dust from going into the furnace or A/C system, the filter then gathers the dust until you change it. The filter smell was a nice flower for about 1 week! Now that there is dust in the filter, we can smell it. Our whole locale smells enjoy old, wet lavender now. I want to rip out the lavender filter then  get a regular filter with no scent. Wes seems to believe that both of us should update the air filters on a weekly basis. He claims the air quality would be cleaner, the HVAC would run better and both of us could keep the lavender smell. Not going to happen
