You may think that because I grew up in a rural part of the country, I am the type of person who loves roughing it outdoors, despite the weather. Little do you know, I am quite the opposite. To be fully honest with you, I loathe winter weather conditions. When my brothers would be outside enjoying winter sports, I would be inside to any source of heat available, snuggled up with a good book. This used to really concern my parents. Day after day, they entice me to go play outside and not stay cooped up indoors all the time. I hardly ever conceded, and this would lead to absurd arguments, as you can most likely picture. However, now that I am an adult and my parents do not appreciate the cold so much, they are always inviting themselves over to get some much needed relief down where I live in the south. They are always welcome at my house, but is it not funny how they are doing everything they can to avoid the freezing cold, just as I once did, to their chagrin? To poke some fun at them, when they are getting cozy and enjoying the fresh air conditioning and watching tv, I will come up to them and ask them if they wish to book a trip back up to that old ski resort we used to frequent. They always know that I am kidding around, and they always roll their eyes which makes me laugh. I am glad they now appreciate how much the cold sucks!
