For my entire professional life, I have worked in the food industry. Because I’ve gained a lot of great experience along the way, I am determined to open my own business. I recently rented a building for my business, finally saving enough money to get my restaurant started! The location is a small building in the central area of my city. It’s an ideal spot, and most of the amenities are ready to open a restaurant. The only major renovation I foresee is having the Heating, Ventilation and A/C repaired or replaced. It appears that the HVAC system is original to the building, so it’s in bad shape. When I first turned the air conditioner on, nothing but hot air would come through the air vents. From my limited knowledge of heating and cooling, I suppose this is because the former owners neglected to clean out the HVAC ducts, change the air filter, or wash the coils of the HVAC unit. I am determined to be different from the former owner. Instead, I want to make sure that I have a great environment for people to come and appreciate my food. I also want them to be repeat customers, so taking care of this problem is at the top of my list. I already know one HVAC contractor, and he will be the first one that I call to service the system. I also plan on having him come out once a year to do a thorough routine inspection. This will provide me with the ability to address problems before they occur. This might sound a bit crazy, but I am convinced that the air quality in an establishment is an important part of the overall dining experience.
