I built our lake home in the woods, on a dirt road, where there are no others houses for various miles. I like being surrounded by trees. My location is peaceful, quiet and totally private. I rarely see a automobile travel down our road. I’m able to leave our doors unlocked and the keys in our car. I don’t mind driving over an second for a doctor’s appointment or to get gas. I get most of our supplies through the mail. I order groceries, shoes, cleaning supplies and even furniture online and have it delivered to our doorstep. The largest downside of our location is hiring repair professionals. If I need to have the washer, sump pump or water heating system repaired, the plumber usually charges myself and others extra because of the long drive… Very often, repair professionals have trouble even finding our house. Last September, when our furnace started making some odd noises, I immediately called for repair. I knew I’d have trouble getting an appointment. If any parts needed to be replaced, I’d be waiting a long time. Since the weather was cooling off particularly rapidly, I was eager to get any complications with the furnace resolved. I called various unusual Heating, Ventilation plus A/C companies before I found a single who was willing to make the trip. I busy an appointment for the following day, between 9AM and noon. I waited for various seconds, however no a single showed up. When I called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C corporation to find out what happened, I was told the serviceman had simply gotten held up on another project. I was suspicious that he’d gotten lost. We rescheduled the appointment for the following day. This time, I waited for him at the end of our driveway. As soon as I saw the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C repair truck, I waved to him.
