As a working mother, Mondays are the busiest & longest days of the week for me, However I start the day bright & early at 5AM with a cup of coffee and a bit of working on the computer.
I have the option to do my job from home.
This comes with it’s pros & cons. One of the cons is I have to be very disciplined & focused. Getting up that early gives me the opportunity to do my job in our office before our child gets up & needs my attention. On Mondays, I deliver her to school at 7AM and then stay until 12 to help out in the classroom. I like all the time I spend at her school because it’s a great environment. Her school is only 5 years old, so everything is either renovated or brand new. This includes the heating & air system! When I was a little kid, we were lucky to even have central heating & air. Instead, we simply opened the windows and then hoped for a breeze or maybe a cool day. However each classroom has its own temperature control which is then set by the district each day per the weather. The district believes in making their students comfortable so that they can focus on reading. I’m sure super impressed with how neutral those temperature in her classroom are. I’m never really too hot or too frigid while volunteering. Another thing her school accomplishes is to maintain their air filters. Instead of having them replaced when the system starts being less energy efficient, they check each of them at the end of the month. Then they make the updates when needed. I look forward to the each time I get to spend in my daughter’s classroom with the best air.
