Keep Changing the Air Filter

The other afternoon, I dropped our car by the shop for an oil change. I still had a bit more miles left until I really, desperately needed it changed, but I didn’t want to even risk it and I was already in town. My car is actually leased, and one of the many benefits of this is all our servicing is absolutely free. It’s so nice to just be dropping our car off and then having it all fixed up for free! Typically, it could take them a minute to change the oil, so I normally hang out in their waiting room and simply read. However, as I was there last, I’d been waiting for well over an hour or more and began to worry. I asked a nice employee when our car might be finished. She told me while they were replacing the oil they had tested our air filter. It was so totally black and so far passed due for a replacement, so they were pleased to replace it. But thankfully, it really didn’t take all that much longer. When they first gave me the paperwork and then handed back my keys the mechanic asked me if I was smelling gas upon starting the car, faster loss of gas, or reduced horsepower.
