Last year I had a simple clog in the guest bathroom toilet.
I called the closest plumber that I found with a search engine and scheduled an appointment after seeing just two reviews on my web search.
It was a grave error that set me back two thousand dollars after paying for a jet clean procedure that I never needed in the first place. The second plumber I called told me he could have augered my toilet for $50 in a half an hour long job. Needless to say, I’m concerned knowing that I have to decide on an HVAC contractor in the next few weeks. My air conditioner needs to be replaced and I was told that sections of my ductwork are beyond repairable, meaning I need a brand new ventilation system as well. I’m looking at a potential bill of well over $4,000 or more on the low end. With that much money spent and with something as important as my indoor air, I can’t use the wrong HVAC supplier like I did with the plumber. This time, I spent two weeks scouring the web for reviews of local heating and cooling suppliers. I managed to find a company with a significant social media presence and thousands of reviews dating back almost 15 years. They are a family owned business and were started three generations ago, making them the oldest HVAC company in my city. I already have a date set for the ductwork installation and a separate day for the air handler and condenser, since I bought another split system like my old HVAC. I’m still concerned over whether or not I made the right decision considering my past mistakes, but this company’s positive notoriety make the situation a lot less stressful.
