I have never had very much luck when it comes to houses. I bought a house right after I graduated college, and it was honestly a mistake. It would not have been a mistake for most people, but for me, it was. Last year, my house flooded. The house had never flooded before in its thirty-five years of existence. I could not believe it. Thankfully, I had great insurance that covered most of the damages. There were so many things damaged that I did not realize were damaged though. One of the things that I think was damaged by the flood was my air conditioner. I did not realize it because it was the end of the summer, and I only used my air conditioner a handful of times after that flood had taken place. It seemed to work fine for those few times, but when I got it out this year to cool the house, I realized there was something wrong with it. It was covered in mildew which was really gross, but I thoroughly cleaned it out. It still did not run properly. It was having trouble, and I could tell because it was leaking a lot more liquid than usual, and it was making a squealing noise. I tried to leave it on for a few hours to see if it would still cool the house down even though it was making weird noises and leaking. Sadly, it did not cool the house down, and I realized that I had to buy a new one. I found a good deal on some air conditioners, so I decided to buy two of them. My house is cool again, and I happily chucked that old air conditioner into the dumpster.
