As I have started to get older and experience more things in adulthood, I have started to realize that you aren’t able to always rely on a planned out daily schedule to get you to get your work done.
This has been especially harsh for me due to the fact that I work from home and I have no boss or supervisor looking over my shoulder in an office or anything like that. However as of late I have been able to use what would be a huge inconvenience and have turned it into a source of motivation to get my work done. My air conditioning unit broke down last week right at the start of the summer, and instead of getting it repaired I have held off on calling over to the local HVAC ventilation, heating and cooling company. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to try and go without it for a little experiment. Forcing myself to work in the extreme heat has really helped boost my overall motivation due to the sheer heat and humidity in my home during the day. By using the broken down air conditioning to my advantage I was able to have my most efficient week in my career and was given a promotion at my job. From all of the extra money I earned finishing up extra projects not only was I able to save up the cash to fix my broken down unit, but I was even able to make the upgrade to a state of the art air conditioning unit! I guess you could say that having a disaster come up with my air conditioning unit ended up being a blessing in disguise.
